Carolyn Holleran is a retired educator and aided in founding Berks Women in Crisis (now SafeBerks) and is a pioneer in Berks for women. Her granddaughter Katherine currently works at Tower Health Reading Hospital in Supply Chain Management and has been a member of Junior League of Reading\, advancing women.\n\n\nCarolyn Holleran\nCarolyn graduated from Wyomissing High School\, received her BA from Connecticut College and her MAT from Yale University. She is a retired educator\, a Curriculum Specialist at Berks County Intermediate Unit\, and retired as Executive Director of Pennsylvania Council on Economic Education. She was the Director of Great Valley Bank\, Fulton Bank\, and Fulton Financial Corporation from 1991-2009 and has served on many Boards including Alvernia University\, United Way\, Safe Berks\, Caron Treatment Center\, Connecticut College\, Berks County Conservancy. She co- authored two books: The World of Work (a curriculum for junior high students) and Strategies for Teaching Entrepreneurship (a senior high school textbook). Between 1992 and 1997 she wrote MoneySmart\, a student activity series for the Reading Eagle. She has received many awards over her lifetime. She is married to Jerry Holleran and has three sons\, two stepsons\, one stepdaughter\, ten grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren. Carolyn is proud to be a Berks County native and has lived here her entire life\, except for time acquiring education. \n\nKatherine Williams \n\nKatie is one of the ten grandchildren of Carolyn. Katie started off her career in education\, working first as a Teach for America Corps Member teaching high school math in Chicago and then as a Manager of Data Analysis for the District of Columbia Office of the State Superintendent of Education managing the collection\, analysis\, and reporting of state education data. Currently\, Katie is responsible for Tower Health Supply Chain Management's non-clinical contracts as well as the capital budgeting and acquisition processes. She receievd her undergraduate education also at Connecticut College with a Major in Mathematics and also received her Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon.\n\n\n\nRamona Turpin\n\n\n\nWorkforce Development Coordinator\n\nLiteracy Council of Reading-Berks\n\n\n\nMartha Turpin\n\n\n\nMartha Elizabeth Turpin was born on Easter Sunday\, April 22\, 1984. Born and raised in Reading Pennsylvania she is a graduate of Reading high school. Martha received her bachelors degree in communication studies at Kutztown University. She recently became an independent sales director with Mary Kay cosmetics. Martha has been in and out of the beauty industry for 17 years starting as a shampoo girl at graces Golden Combs at the age of 17.
