Essentials of Effective Management: Driving Organizational Results
In today’s fast-paced environment much more is expected of managers in delivering organizational results. This program provides essential skills beyond the basics to influence others and drive results. In these interactive sessions, participants will learn how to lead across boundaries, effectively sell ideas and communicate the WHY of decisions. This program is for those who are motivated to increase their sphere of influence and optimize performance.
The program has five 3-hour sessions. Topics include:
1. Active Communication: Enabling Purposeful Engagement
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe key elements of clear communication
- Recognize common challenges to communicating effectively
- Demonstrate communication techniques to enhance messaging
- Define and identify active listening
- Use techniques to improve listening abilities
- Learn tools to allow the speaker to feel heard
- Recognize common challenges to listening attentively
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the importance of knowing what is behind the Why
- What to do when you don’t know the Why
- Explain the importance of communicating the Why
- How to communicate the Why to employees
- Plan and practice ways to effectively communicate the Why to employees
- Identify when a policy or plan is not well understood and take corrective action
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Learn how to position ideas for organizational implementation
- How expertise, sincerity and trust builds credibility
- Identify and target key stakeholders
- Influence decision makers and groups
- Execute a successful rollout
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand boundary types
- Learn the importance of understanding roles, responsibilities and processes
- Utilize tools to uncover barriers in your organization
- Build relationships and interconnections and interdependencies
- Create strategic alliances
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Define components of an accountable leader
- Demonstrate personal accountability
- Hold employees accountable for their actions
- Understand how inclusion drives engagement
