It's time for The Dinner - The largest gathering of business leaders in Berks County. The evening features a nationally-known keynote speaker and the celebration of several awards.
Tonight, we spend an evening with Hollywood icon Henry Winkler. His warm personality and humor will charm you as he shares anecdotes about his storied career in television and entertainment, inspirational life lessons, as well as his personal story about overcoming adversity.
Please join us for this fantastic evening and celebrate the award recipients of the Greater Reading Top Business Awards, Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards, and Albert Boscov Economic Development Award. The evening promises to be filled with entertainment, great food and the opportunity to network with over 900 business neighbors.
More About Winkler:
A 1973 audition forever changed the life of the Yale School of Drama graduate when he was cast in the iconic role of Arthur Fonzarellie, aka "The Fonz," in the TV series Happy Days. Both his famous leather jacket and Fonzie's lunch box became part of an exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum in 1980.
Film and TV appearances (many garnering award nominations and wins) such as Arrested Development, Royal Pains, Parks and Recreation, Waterboy, Holes, and Scream along with his current role in HBO's dark comedy, Barry, (for which he won this past September's Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy) have earned him fans from multiple generations.
In addition, to producing, acting, and directing, Winkler is also a New York Times best-selling author. The books were inspired by Winkler's struggle throughout his education due to his learning challenges. To date his 34 Hank Zipzer children's novels, written with co-author Lin Oliver, have been published around the world in seven languages with more than 4 million copies sold.
Winkler is passionate about helping others - especially children and the content of children's TV programming. He and his wife have received numerous accolades worldwide for their efforts and devotion to "the improvement of the human condition."
