DESCRIPTION:What we know\n\nWhat we've done\n\nWhat business can do\n\n\n\nIn this webinar\, Dr. Jeff Held and Sharon Strohecker\, RN\, CNO\, as the co-leaders of Penn State Health St. Joseph's\, will share the responses the medical center initiated during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have led all aspects of St. Joseph's response to the pandemic including the evolution of the clinical pathways of care for COVID-positive patients. They also administered the inventory and flow of medical devices\, protective supplies and testing equipment\, created safe care environments through the developments of policies and practices and were St. Joseph's spokespeople on communicating with key stakeholders throughout the crisis about St. Joseph's response. Both directed the creation of Berks County's first drive up COVID-19 testing site\, and the creation of a rapid testing program to expedite COVID-19 test results. They also oversaw the use of the anti-viral drug Remdesivir\, and the use of convalescent plasma therapy in the care of COVID-19 patients. Both also led St. Joseph's planning in order to be prepared for a surge of COVID-19 patients\, which occurred in late April. These key aspects\, in addition to ongoing COVID preparedness and best practices business can initiate and build upon to keep their employees and customers safe as the state moves into code Yellow.
