GRCA launches ''Grow Together'' campaign in support of Berks County farmers
The goal of this program includes three areas of focus:
• Promotion: GRCA has engaged in a multifaceted social media and digital marketing campaign that will direct consumers to a Berks County-specific website where they can easily search for local farms by product type.
• Education: The “Grow Together” campaign is geared towards consumers, educating them on the products produced locally, when they are available, and how to find those producers.
• Connection: The “Grow Together” campaign is designed to amplify individual marketing efforts by Berks County farmers and help connect them with a wider group of consumers as their shopping habits continue to turn to a digital marketplace.
“Agriculture is Berks County’s top industry, and the core of GRCA’s mission is to promote and advance economic development,” said GRCA’s President and CEO Jim Gerlach. “Connecting consumers with local producers not only achieves that goal, but it also increases access to fresh and nutritious sources of food, expands consumer literacy on the source of their food, and it creates new and improved opportunities for existing and future farmers that will continue Berks County’s proud agricultural tradition for generations to come.”
The campaign was created by working in collaboration with B.A.R.N. leadership. B.A.R.N is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on supporting, advocating for, and celebrating all things agriculturally related in Berks County and surrounding areas. Their mission is to help strengthen and develop our local agricultural and food industry professionally and economically through education and opportunities to connect with other businesses and the general public.
