The Chamber continues to partner with Reading High School to offer juniors and seniors an opportunity to learn more about local career opportunities and the requirements to enter the workforce. The goal is to encourage students when they leave school in June to have a plan in place. Career Prep is a two-part program that is focused on providing students with an opportunity to learn from business mentors and community volunteers about particular career paths and local opportunities.
Business Volunteers:
- Offer students more information about their particular companies.
- Identify skill sets (technical and soft) required to be employed, as well as an overview of the application process.
- Provide information on the various education and career path programs available at their institutions.
- Identify the enrollment process and cost along with any financial assistance programs.
- Share with students the resources and programs available to support them as they pursue a career path.
