Joe Jurgielewicz & Son Ltd - The Tasty Duck Story
Meet the Family: Dr. Joe Jurgielewicz, Joey Jurgielewicz, Dr. Jim Jurgielewicz, & Michael Jurgielewicz
Facilitated by Chet Mosteller of Mosteller & Associates, join the Jurgielewicz family to discuss how they’ve overcome challenges and struggles encountered as a family business , the importance of succession planning, the evolution of Tasty Duck over generations & overall best practices for family businesses.
Four generations of Jurgielewicz family duck farming began in 1933 when Dr. Joe’s grandparents, Bronislaw and Katarzyna Jurgielewicz, emigrated to America from Poland via Ellis Island. Today, Joe Jurgielewicz & Son, Ltd. (JJS) is one of the leading Peking duck suppliers in North America. The company employs over 200 Pennsylvanians, and partners with 27 local farm families throughout Pennsylvania to raise JJS Peking ducks. These same ducks are descendants of the original Long Island ducks that Dr. Joe’s grandparents raised on their farm in Long Island.
