The Young Leadership Conference Series: Building Tomorrow's Leaders Today is a day of mentoring, empowerment, leadership, and exploration for high school students, grades 10 and 11. 300 students will participate from high schools across Berks County, and will be divided into two separate conference tracks - a young men's and a young women's program. The goal for this signature student event in the community is to provide students with the tools necessary to become confident leaders among their peers, while also pairing them with inspiring mentors from the local business community.
Students will interact in a variety of settings: group discussions, facilitated career panels, a networking lunch among business professionals, and the opportunity to hear an inspiring story from a relevant keynote speaker. Discussion topics may include (but are not limited to) the following areas:
- Empowering Your Peers
- Unique Leadership Styles
- Using Your Voice
- Relationship Building
- Social Media in the Workplace
- Branding Yourself
- Networking
- STEM Careers and Opportunities
- Defining Your Vision
- Goal Setting
- Leadership 101
- Career Exploration & Case Study Exercise
- Post-Secondary Highlights & Opportunities
- Financing Your Future
