Attendees will have the chance to dunk BCHC staff members in the dunk tank, sponsored by Highmark Wholecare. The events will also include a bounce house, music from Red Tie Affairs, free hot dogs and soft pretzels, and raffle prizes. Guests can visit information tables hosted by local community, health, social services, and government organizations.
National Health Center Week celebrates the essential work of the over 1,500 community health centers that provide care to over 31.5 million people in the country annually. BCHC operates four locations in Berks County: 838 Penn St., 1040 Liggett Ave., 1110 Rockland St. and a mobile unit, Wellness on Wheels. Founded in 2012, BCHC’s mission is to improve access and health of the community through delivering coordinated and comprehensive care to all residents of Berks County regardless of their economic status. BCHC has a sliding fee scale for those community members who are low income based and accepts all insurances and the uninsured.
