Miller-Keystone Blood Drive
Join the GRCA and Miller-Keystone Blood Center for our 2nd annual Blood Drive! Even in these times of uncertainty, the Miller-Keystone Blood Center needs donations! Your donation WILL save lives! To adhere to social distancing guidelines, and for the safety of the staff and donors, only 1 or 2 appointments will be taken per time-slot. Please continue to adhere to mask-wearing guidelines when traveling in public.
Miller-Keystone Blood Center relies on the support from the residents of our community to ensure that the blood needs of your family, friends and neighbors are met, especially in this challenging time. It is the responsibility of the Blood Center, as the sole supplier of blood products, to ensure that patients served by our community hospitals receive the blood products they need. No other blood services organization distributes blood products to our regional hospitals. That is why it is so essential for all of us to take part in this exciting event. There are rare blood types in every population; the challenge is finding a perfect match for patients. Most blood types fall into one of the four major groups: A, B, AB, O, but for patients with rare blood types, we need a more diverse blood supply to ensure the best possible care in our local hospitals. Type O negative red cells can be given to patients of all blood types. Because only 7% of people in the U.S. are type O negative, it?s always in high demand and often in short supply. If you fall into this category, we ask that you consider joining at our Blood Drive!
