Public Speaking Essentials & Networking
Investing in Future Generations
Join us for an inspiring event featuring Lucine Sihelnik, President and CEO of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA). Lucine brings a wealth of leadership experience, having served as a Commissioner and, before that, as Vice President of City Council. Now, as the head of GRCA, she’s frequently called upon to speak on behalf of the business community, often at a moment’s notice. In this session, Lucine will share her journey and valuable insights into how to master the art of public speaking with confidence and impact.
We are asking all who attend to BRING ANOTHER WOMAN to empower and lift up! Consider inviting an up-and-coming leader in your workplace, friend, daughter, or mentee. High school and college women will be attending to expand their networks. We will also be hosting Grey Girl Photography, who will be offering complimentary headshots to update your resumes and LinkedIn profiles!
Meet Our Speaker
Lucine Sihelnik, President & CEO of the Greater Reading Chamber Alliance, is a leader in Community and Economic Development and has spent the last twenty years working to bring sustainability to Berks County, least of all through her newest business venture Great American Creamery. (The Creamery, founded by Sihelnik and her husband Balasios “Saki” Lahaniatis, is a model utilizing sustainable practices and product from Penn State’s Berkery Creamery.) Years ago, Sihelnik started her first small business, a small, organic vegetable farm near Bernville. Later, she led the revitalization and expansion of the Penn Street Market and served as Food Systems Director to create a local food policy and action council (RRFPAC); the council hosted a number of successful community initiatives under her leadership. Later, while serving as Berks Agricultural Resource Network’s (B.A.R.N.) first female president, she also ran and won the district 1 seat on Reading’s City Council in 2019/2020 and served 2 years as Vice President and most recently as Commissioner of Berks County. Sihelnik has a master’s degree from Alvernia University, and currently volunteers with several community initiatives and boards. She believes that sustainability should and can be applied to every facet of “people, planet and profit!” Lucine describes herself as: Mother. Wife. Working towards creating a Sustainable Future: Leader. Entrepreneur. Public Servant. President & C.E.O.
