Ground was broken Monday morning for the future medical school that will stand on what used to be a parking lot for the former VF Outlet Center in Wyomissing.
The Drexel University College of Medicine at Tower Health is scheduled to open at The Knitting Mills for the 2020-21 academic year.

The 38 graduates of the Leadership Berks Class of 2019 filed one-by-one across the stage at the Crowne Plaza Reading in Wyomissing as their names, and the name of the company that sponsored each, poured through the loudspeaker.

A distillery and tasting room is expected to open soon on Penn Street in downtown Reading.
Chris Flowers, owner and distiller of Reading Distilling Guild, has started construction at 503 Penn St. and hopes to be up and running by July. Flowers said Thursday that he has been planning the distillery and tasting room since last June.

The news that CarbonLITE Holdings LLC plans to locate in Muhlenberg Township is encouraging not just from an economic point of view, but from an environmental one.

In 2017, researcher Khaled Bahei-Eldin made a big career move to Berks County. He left Albany, N.Y., to take on a new role at EnerSys, the battery maker in Bern Township.
