In this new role, the Business Development Manager will investigate various industries, existing and new, to locate appropriate opportunities for each of the sales divisions within Specialty Equipment. After qualifying new opportunities and building the initial relationship, the Business Development Manager will support the transition to the sales team.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Business Development Manager will understand and follow the MGS Vision, Mission Statement and Goals. The Business Development Manager will also understand and successfully communicate the competitive advantage of MGS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Hunts in directed areas where MGS capabilities can be utilized
- Researches appropriate industries for opportunities with qualified potential customers
- Works closely with the VP of Specialty Equipment Sales and Division Managers to explore and exploit new opportunities
- Qualifies new opportunities with the VP of Sales and appropriate Division and Account Managers
- Uses the following tools: social media, internet presence, LinkedIn, trade magazines, trade shows, personal encounters, face-to-face and virtual visits, emails and references
- Identifies and evaluates growth opportunities within current customers
- Develops and initiates plans with 12-to-24-month timeline
- Initiates contact and acts as intermediary to build initial relationship and insures smooth transition to appropriate division and sales personnel
- Understands, follows and supports MGS culture
- Understands MGS’ capabilities and can successfully convey them to qualified prospects
- Communicates and works effectively with Specialty Equipment divisional teams, other MGS teams and external teams as needed.
- Attends national trade shows with VP of Specialty Equipment Sales, Division and/or Account Managers
- Assists Division Managers in reaching annual sales goals
- Tracks progress and files reports as directed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree
Experience:
- 5+ years of sales, business development or related experience
- Manufacturing or industrial experience helpful
Licenses:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Willingness to obtain PA Vehicle Representative – Commercial Sales License
